How to Order a DVD Slide Show

Just follow these simple steps to get started...
Step 1 - Organize Your Photos
Collect and organize the photos you wish to include in the slide show. Put them into the sequence you want them displayed.
Next, label and number each photo in case they fall out of sequence during shipment. Number the photos starting with "one" (1) and count upwards. Here are some recommend ways of labeling your photos:
- (a) write the number on a sticky note and attach it to the back of the photo,
- (b) write the number on the back in pencil (but take care not to press too hard on the photo to avoid damage), or
- (c) write the number on the back in permanent market (do not use ball point pens) - but be sure you allow time for the ink to dry before stacking photos.
If you plan to include digital photos, it is best to simply change the name of the file to be the number of the photo itself (eg. "78.jpg").
Alternatively, you can create your own numbering scheme which makes sense to you... just make sure we can understand it. :-)
Step 2 - Fill Out the Order Form
Download the appropriate order form, print it out, and fill out as much of the order form as possible. Please feel free to contact us if there are any questions or you need assistance. We're happy to help!
Step 3 - Send Everything To Us
Send us your photos, music CDs, videotape(s) and completed order form. Depending on where you are in Northern Virginia/Washington DC (we are in South Riding VA, near Chantilly), you can either arrange to drop your order off in person (by appointment only please) or simply ship* your order to the address noted on the order form. Be sure to provide adequate packing material and protection for your photos, video tape(s), etc. to avoid damage during shipping. We recommend putting your materials in a plastic ziploc bag, then putting that bag into whatever box you plan to ship in. This just adds an extra layer of protection from any moisture that could further damage the photos.
If you'd rather send us your photos electronically, that can be arranged. Ask for details. Please note that we will still need you to submit your order form via snail-mail or fax, however.
Step 4 - After Your Order is Ready, Submit Payment
We will notify you when your order is complete (by email and/or phone). You will then be sent an email requesting that you pay for the order (via PayPal or credit card) at our payment webpage. Payment by check is also acceptable; however, since checks require more time to clear you must include the check with your order. Make checks payable to "Shoebox Memories".
Rush orders must be paid via PayPal or credit card to avoid delay. Please note that Virginia residents and "pick-up orders" will need to also pay 5% sales tax.
Step 5 - Sit Back and Enjoy
Once payment is received -- we will send your finished DVD and original materials to you. If you are in the metro Washington DC area and prefer to arrange for a pick-up, just let us know.
You should allow a turnaround time of 1 month. If you need the DVD sooner, there may still be a chance we can help you. Please contact us to check our availability and make arrangements for a rush order (+15%, $20 min).
